New "In-Person" Class Requirements & What to Expect
To all studio members, clients, and visitors of this website:
Due to Covid19, the studio was closed down temporarily on March 16, 2020 for an indefinite period. I am happy to announce that we will officially re-open for "in-person" yoga classes on Tuesday, August 4th, 2020 at 9:30am. The new schedule will offer a combination of "live streamed" classes via Zoom and "in-person" classes at the studio. Please sign up for our newsletter here to be up-to-date with everything!
Here are the new requirements for "In-Person" classes at the studio. PLEASE:
RSVP for each class according to the specific RSVP timelines set for each class (you will find these on the yoga class schedule). This applies for the live streamed classes as well.
Please arrive at least 15-20 min before class, the new procedures will take more time (no late arrivals will be allowed in once the class starts and the front door will be locked).
Bring your own mat and props to class as per your needs (re. a firm pillow/bolster, a blanket, a belt/strap/long scarf, blocks).
Wear a mask before entering the studio and use the hand sanitizer at the entrance.
To avoid "bottlenecks" and delays before and after class, I kindly ask that you please prepay for your classes here.
If you must pay in person, NO CASH PLEASE.
HERE IS WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:
If you have any type of flu-like symptoms (cough, sore throat, runny nose, sneezing, fever) or have traveled in the last 14 days, please stay at home until your 14 days of isolation are completed. If you are an essential healthcare worker or someone who has been exposed to covid19, please let Suniti know before class, please keep your mask on and practice social distancing at all times while at the studio.
You will be asked to enter the studio one at a time.
You will find clean and clutter-free surfaces: the floor, washroom, and commonly-touched areas will be cleaned and/or disinfected before and after each class.
You will sign-in with a clean and disinfected pen, your name will already be printed due to your RSVP. There will be a new covid19 waiver to sign or you can do it online here.
If you use the washroom, you will be asked to wipe down the surfaces you touched with a cleaning spray.
There will be a maximum of 6 class attendees and a minimum of 2 attendees.
If you are the only person who has RSVP'd, I will contact you an hour or so before class and present you with various options: receive a previously recorded class video, join an upcoming live-streaming class, take the "in-person" class with me but pay extra for the class (cost: two classes on your package or $32 + hst, whichever is less).
If you wish to "un-RSVP" to a class, please do so before the RSVP timeline for each class to avoid having the class taken out of your package or being charged for the class; if you "un-RSVP" after the RSVP timeline, the class will be removed from your package or you will be charged for the class and you will be sent a previously recorded class video.
Pranayama/breathing exercises during class will be simplified, made softer, or replaced with mindfulness of breath; pranayama that involves blowing out forcefully or through the mouth will be avoided entirely.
The yoga room door will be left open during class to allow for better air flow, the HVAC fan will be on, and the A/C may be on as needed (both the fan and HVAC blow air close to the ceiling, not in your face).
As per the York Region guidelines, you will be required to wear your mask when you come into the studio, walk around, and go to the washroom. While practicing yoga on your mat, you will be permitted to remove your mask if that is your preference according to the York Region covid19 instructions for indoor fitness-related activities. IF EVERYONE WANTS TO KEEP THEIR MASK ON DURING CLASS, I WILL KEEP MINE ON TOO.
At the end of class, people can leave one at a time with their mask on. The side door in the yoga room can be used for those in a rush.
It is my intention to do everything I can to keep everyone safe at the studio while following current provincial, regional and city guidelines as we move into stage 3.
I look forward to reconnecting with you, whether via live stream, class videos or in-person! Namaste, Suniti xo
