What has made this training successful or not for you?
“Having in person sessions is what I feel made the training successful. While learning online allows me to focus and get thru content, I really feel that when it comes to learning practical content and technique, learning in person, watching and doing is the most effective way to learn.” Jennifer Kleinberg “The Teacher Training was successful for me because it made me put aside time for myself, every month, to work on my own growth. It helped me to grow in my asana practise as well as emotionally and spiritually." Lynda Robertson-Goudy
“In-person training and connecting with others within a community helped to make this a successful training. The on-line portion also helped with consistency between our sessions. Teaching from the beginning of the program was also beneficial. It helped to normalize the teaching aspect and reduce anxiety. On a personal level, the spiritual teachings, and my growth in that area, as well as the opportunity to teach one of the module lessons, was hugely impactful.” Debbie Stevens
“This training was successful for me for many reasons. First, the actual program and the lead trainer/mentor, you-Suniti, ensured success. Second, the format of in-person, online, and at-home study was a good balance for me. Lastly, I need time to integrate my understanding, and the length of the program allowed for me to do so.” Louise Fior
What has been the impact on your thinking around teaching yoga?
“Initially, I was taking this course for personal growth and a way to develop a deeper connection with myself. After having taken the course and learning about the limbs of yoga, the history of yoga, more about the chakras, the benefits of yoga and getting the chance to teach my lesson plans, I realized how much I really do like teaching yoga and wanted to share my energy and learnings with others.” Jennifer Kleinberg
“I am in the process of renewing my vulnerable sector screening to teach yoga to the ladies at a shelter in Newmarket (…). I would love to teach yoga to these ladies. It will be in a volunteer capacity, but it will help me gain my confidence in working with a variety of ages and capabilities.” Lynda Robertson-Goudy
“I came into the training with no real desire to teach - simply for my own personal growth. Teaching the module lesson plan changed my thinking as it was the first time I actually believed that I could teach and be good at it!!! Now I feel that I would like to teach. I have not figured that out yet, but I am open to possibilities as they present themselves." Debbie Stevens
Will you use the tools you have learned in the future? If so, how?
“The biggest tool that I will use are the pre-created lesson images and the lesson plan template. Using the template helps me remember the key sections of a successful yoga practice. The pre-created lesson plans inspire my plans, plus I use the images of the poses in my plans.” Jennifer Kleinberg
“I use the tools I learned every day in my daily practice. I believe those tools will always be refined with practice." Louise Fior
“I am already applying tools that I learned throughout the course in the way I interact with my family, the way I react to situations, and in my own understanding of myself. I am speaking my truth more, I am finding like-minded people to spend more time with, and I am sharing my understanding of breathwork with more people. I also seem to have many opportunities to share the message that asanas are about how the posture feels in your body and not a ‘full expression’ of what it is perceived to be. I also have many friends who ask me about the proper alignment of specific poses. It is fun to share my knowledge and I expect that I will continue to do so in the future.” Debbie Stevens
Is there a specific message you would like to give future enrollees in this program?
“My biggest message would be to enjoy the course, even the parts that they are unfamiliar with. When their confidence feels shaky or they are unsure of themselves, they have to remain present and have faith in themselves. Also, teaching to each other is always done in a safe space and everyone is nervous and unsure. Eventually they will find their groove and everything will just “click”, it’s a magic moment.” Jennifer Kleinberg “I don’t ever remember a time when I loved learning so much! It was so wonderful to learn with like minded people, who just want to better themselves and help others. The teacher training at Heart Journey has helped me grow in so many ways. Daniele provided us with all of the tools we need to become confident and wise yoga teachers. I can’t wait to begin my teaching journey with friends, family and different groups in my community.” Lynda Robertson-Goudy
“Our program was enhanced because of your spirituality, knowledge, and experience, as well as the information you shared from your therapeutic yoga course. The impact of the other Limbs of Yoga (not just the asanas) is what made the course so impactful and that is also where you shine and what we benefitted from." Debbie Stevens
