Therapeutic Yoga for Hips & Knees, 5-week series
The hips and knees are such important parts of our anatomy as they support us in standing steadily and in moving forward confidently both literally and figuratively. Painful hips and knees can really limit our ability to move comfortably, and damper the freedom that we seek in the full enjoyment of our life.
This therapeutic yoga series is designed to address hip and knee discomfort related to conditions such as groin pull, IT band syndrome, hip bursitis, hip/knee replacement, osteoarthritis, injured ligaments (MCL, LCL, ACL, PCL), runner’s knees (PFPS), and meniscal tear. It can also be used as a preventative practice for those who occasionally experience hip or knee pain.
Using the Ajna Yoga Model for Hip and Knee Care, we will focus on:
Some of these practices will be done as a group, and there may be times for individual practice of specific poses related to your specific knee or hip issue, depending on the class participants' needs.
As a bonus, all classes of this series will be recorded so if you miss a class, you won't miss a thing! Everyone will receive the class recordings which will allow you to continue your practice at home in-between classes. Some handouts will be provided as well as needed. You will have access to the recordings until Aug. 31, 2024. If you find that the “in person” class time does not work for you, simply register using the “virtual series” option and you will receive all the class recordings.
To register for this series, please inform Daniele of any formal diagnosis you may have received from a licensed medical practitioner, physiotherapist, or chiropractor. Please bring to class a yoga mat and a couple of squash balls that you can use to massage your body. As part of this series’ registration, you will be asked to fill out a therapeutic intake form so that Daniele may assess your specific needs for this series.

From Woman to Goddess – The Journey Continues
Gentle Kundalini Yoga & Flow - 5-Week Series
The time has come to embrace our inner Goddess again in this brand new female empowerment yoga series!
In a previous series, we had explored the true meaning of “woman” energy in relation to the masculine principle so that we could embody more fully our female aspect. We received empowering sacred healing initiations with the help of various archetypal Goddess beings.
Now, the journey continues as we look more deeply at the programming and wounding that lie at the core of female embodiment in relation to ourselves and others. We will look at the dynamics of co-dependency, including love/hate relationships, with an intention to release ourselves from the game of separation that these create, and the spell of conditioning that has fogged our awareness. We will explore the dynamics of polarities in our relationships so that we may create greater balance with the people we care about. We will engage in practices that strengthen inner stability, stillness, and our connection to our Soul, as a means to support and nurture ourselves. We will discover how passive and receptive skills can be used for inner mastery, and we will redefine the path of sacredness. At the end of each class, we will heal, transform, and empower ourselves with the help and wisdom of new archetypal Goddesses. This is what lies in store for us in this deeply transformative and empowering series.
We will do this by exploring and understanding what female empowerment really means through the lens of the kundalini yoga tradition. We will practice in a gentle way specially selected yoga kriyas and flowing sequences designed to activate various aspects of the empowered woman. The kriyas will be done our way by following the guidance of our body, because in this age of heightened energies, rigorous kundalini yoga practices are no longer necessary to effect change.

Yoga for Balance and Fall Prevention - 6-week series
Maintaining our balance, whether on one or two legs, is one of those things that becomes more challenging as we age. Young people are not immune to this issue as I’ve discovered in my 14 years as a yoga teacher. Falling can happen unexpectedly at any time, no matter what season is present.
Did you know that it is possible to prevent a fall by proactively learning to use your body in specific ways? And if you realize that you’re in the process of falling, there are ways to come out of a fall safely when on the ground.
In this series, we will learn about 5 principles that can assist us in preventing a fall or in returning to a state of balance after a fall, and these will be explored in the context of various stretches, repetitive movements, yoga postures, and flowing practices. We will also focus on building our ability to balance in actual balance poses, so if balance has been an issue for you during yoga classes, you will have an opportunity to "strengthen your balance muscle”!
