Enhancing Body Vitality With Breath & Yoga
In this series, we will activate energetic currents that naturally move through parts of the body to support various functions. These natural energies are known in the yoga world as vayus, they connect the physical body to the energy body. They help circulate vibrant life force energy through the elimination and digestive systems, as well as in the heart, throat, and cervical spine (neck). They also send expansive and centering energies into the limbs, head, and torso to increase vitality and connection with self and life, enhancing our mood in the wintery season!
Activating these natural energetic currents can assist us in many ways, including:
In this series, we will learn about the internal and external vayus and experience various ways to activate them with breathing practices, yoga postures, hand mudras, and guided meditation. The combined practices in each class will allow a clear and sustained activation of these inner currents and enhance their energetic and physical effects. Handouts will be provided, as well as recorded meditations and breathing practices.
BONUS: All classes will be recorded as well, so if you miss a class, you won’t miss a thing! Recordings will remain available until end of April 2025. This series is offered in person at the studio. If the timing of the class does not work for you, you may register using the “Virtual Only” option, and receive all the class recordings and handouts. Yoga for Weight Loss - Flex, Tone & Strengthen Key Body Areas
Do you need some support to get on track with your weight loss objective? This program is designed to support you in your weight loss efforts with targeted yogic practices for those key body areas that need some trimming and with other non-yogic practices that include Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and guided meditations to help you reach your weight loss goal. Please note that I will only offer basic common sense nutritional suggestions that may be conducive to weight loss because I am not a nutritionist. You will be responsible to follow your own diet as you see fit.

Maintaining our balance, whether on one or two legs, is one of those things that becomes more challenging as we age. Young people are not immune to this issue as I’ve discovered in my 14 years as a yoga teacher. Falling can happen unexpectedly at any time, no matter what season is present.
Did you know that it is possible to prevent a fall by proactively learning to use your body in specific ways? And if you realize that you’re in the process of falling, there are ways to come out of a fall safely when on the ground.
In this series, we will learn about 5 principles that can assist us in preventing a fall or in returning to a state of balance after a fall, and these will be explored in the context of various stretches, repetitive movements, yoga postures, and flowing practices. We will also focus on building our ability to balance in actual balance poses, so if balance has been an issue for you during yoga classes, you will have an opportunity to "strengthen your balance muscle”!
