Mindful Yoga for a Calm and Focused Mind
Is your mind too busy, going around and around, and you have a hard time relaxing?
Is it difficult to focus because your thinking mind gets in the way?
Do you tend to think negatively or in unhelpful ways and would like to change that?
This series is designed to help you create a shift in the way you interact with your mind, and bring you to a state of greater calmness, ease, and focus. We will use two types of evidence-based practices, yoga and mindfulness, to support you in doing that.
Each class will include yogic breathing practices to help bring you to your calm center and begin the process of calming the mind; then, we will continue with gentle and mindful yogic stretches to move you from the thinking mind to the feeling body. We will spend the last portion of the class on the practice of various types of mindfulness meditations designed to quiet and focus the mind.
Every week, you will receive additional worksheets and a guided audio recording of the weekly meditation to support you at home in your personal practice. This series is available both virtually and in person. It will be recorded if there are sufficient participants for the virtual series. If not, you will receive a recording of a gentle yoga class if you miss a class.

Yin Mudras Yoga Series: Creating Harmony with the Outer World!
The practice of Yin Yoga is one of the most profound ways to experience yoga because it has the power to bring us in close contact with the deepest aspects of ourselves while cultivating the silent witness within that allows everything to be just as it is. Each posture is a meditation with our body, our awareness, and our breath. On a physical level, a yin yoga practice helps us access the tissues in our body that are difficult to stretch, such as the joints, ligaments, and deeper fascia. We hold simple yoga poses for a longer time in a very relaxed way.
Some of the benefits of a yin practice include:
Mudras are subtle and highly effective hand gestures that promote health, healing, and well-being, and that activate inner energies for personal transformation. In this series, we will infuse our practice with the mudras and teachings of the 1st limb of Patanjali’s eightfold path of yoga, and we will cultivate the essence of each Yama for ourselves as we hold yoga postures the yin yoga way. The Yamas are focused on helping us create harmonious and respectful relationships with the outer world, the environment, and the people in our life. Each class will end with a guided meditation to help us integrate the energies of the weekly mudra and postures. Handouts will be sent after class with a summary of the teachings along with personal reflection questions about your practice and how to take it off the mat into your life!
If you miss a class, you will receive a copy of the postures we did during class, and since these are simple postures, you will be able to practice them on your own. You will also receive a link for a yoga class recording from the studio’s regular weekly offerings.
Let’s foster a peaceful and harmonious world by planting the seeds of the Yamas deep within ourselves through the loving and stilling practice of yin poses and beautiful mudras… Let’s make it real!
Here are some testimonials from past Yin Series participants:
“Very successful and enjoyable series. Thank you! I liked a few things: the development of the practice week after week; the “yin” focus was just what I needed; the consistency of the group with the same participants. I’ve had a lot of stress lately. It really has helped me to relax. I’ve slept better. It’s also given me some good tools to work with from home.” Candis Feb 2023
“I enjoy a class that allows the student time to be with a pose. It makes the class enjoyable and this series was that. It met my expectation. It helped to bring awareness to my postures and when I may be going beyond my edge; that I must continue to be in tune with my body, try and understand what’s happening and choose or create the adjustment when necessary. It continues to build on my personal theme of awareness and mindfulness in my yoga practice.” G.T. Feb 2023

Balance and Fall Prevention Yoga Series
Maintaining our balance, whether on one or two legs, is one of those things that becomes more challenging as we age. Young people are not immune to this issue as I’ve discovered in my 10+ years as a yoga teacher. Falling can happen unexpectedly at any time, no matter what season is present.
Did you know that it is possible to prevent a fall by proactively learning to use your body in specific ways? And if you realize that you’re in the process of falling, there are ways to come out of a fall safely when on the ground.
In this series, we will learn about 5 principles that can assist us in preventing a fall or in returning to a state of balance after a fall, and these will be explored in the context of various stretches, repetitive movements, yoga postures, and flowing practices. We will also focus on building our ability to balance in actual balance poses, so if balance has been an issue for you during yoga classes, you will have an opportunity to "strengthen your balance muscle”!
This series is currently offered virtually on Zoom. Each week after the class, all registered participants will receive access to class recordings and handouts in the Heart Journey online portal. If you miss a class or are not available at the scheduled class time and only wish to receive the recordings, you can enjoy your practice in your own time and receive all the benefit of this series. You can join at any time!

Deep Dive into Amrit Yoga – The Posture of Consciousness Series
Amrit yoga connects yoga practice with the ancient roots and fundamental principles that are at the core of all branches of yoga. By adding the mental and spiritual disciplines of Raja Yoga, inwardly focused attention and meditative awareness, Amrit Yoga combines the strengths of Hatha and Raja Yoga into one system. The entire system of Amrit Yoga is intended to lead practitioners to move toward a practice that helps awaken Shakti and the higher integrative centers of consciousness.
Amrit Yoga uses the body as an entry point to explore, experience and release psychosomatic blocks that prevent us from tapping into the source of the infinite potential within. This is done through the cultivation of inward focus and meditative awareness along with postures and pranayama (breathing techniques). The practice heals the body-mind split, bringing the mind and body into a harmonious, co-creative friendship.
Amrit Yoga is a metaphor for life. The skills learned on the mat extend to challenges we encounter in life, which then become opportunities and openings for personal transformation. This style of yoga has the power to engage you totally, absorb you completely, and integrate you fully in body, mind, heart, and soul. It empowers you to enter the experience of unity and ecstasy, which is integral to the experience of yoga.
In this series, we will take a wonderful dive into the seven principles of Amrit Yoga to gain a deeper experiential understanding of them and how they can support us in our daily life. The participants who attend my regular classes have had a taste of some of these principles in one form or another as I cannot separate myself from the tradition that has made me a yoga teacher. I am offering here an opportunity for you to build on the yogic foundation that you already have so that you may move further into the transformative and integrative power that is yoga. I look forward to taking this journey with you. Jai Bhagwan.

Let's celebrate womanhood & empower ourselves!
From Woman to Goddess Empowerment Yoga Series
This is a unique virtual yoga series that will help us understand what “woman” energy really is so that we can reclaim and own this part of ourselves, no matter if we identify as male or female since both polarities live within each of us. From this place of ownership, we can take it a step further and reunite with the archetypal energy of the Goddess or Divine Feminine through sacred initiation. At this time in the new world reality in which we have transitioned, we are called to create balance between the masculine and feminine energies which have been suppressed for far too long. The world has been led by a powerful few in a very linear way. It is time to re-ignite the flowing all-encompassing energies of the empowered feminine and bring forth a shift in the way things have been manifesting for centuries.
We will do this by exploring and understanding what woman empowerment really means through the lens of the kundalini yoga tradition. We will practice specially selected yoga kriyas and flowing sequences designed to activate various aspects of the empowered woman. The kriyas will be done our way by following the guidance of our body, because in this age of heightened energies, rigorous kundalini yoga practices are no longer necessary to effect change. We will meditate and receive sacred initiation to unleash our sacred feminine power. There will be opportunity for personal reflection in your own time. Handouts and downloadable recordings of the initiations will be provided to support your transformational journey. For those who wish to prepare in advance for the initiations by gathering various supporting tools, information will be provided in advance. Video recordings of the classes will remain available for an additional five weeks after the end of the series.
It's time to take an illuminating and empowering journey to honor an important aspect of ourselves. Are you in?
This series is meant to be a fun and uplifting celebration of female energies and an igniting of our Inner Goddess Power!
Let's raise our arms, dance, celebrate!

A Mindful Yoga Series –
Building Resilience, Calmness, and Positivity in an Uncertain World
Living for almost two years in a pandemic world has not been a walk in the park… Just when we thought things were finally moving in the right direction, a new variant of concern is causing many challenges once again. These days, we need to dig deep to maintain a sense of faith that things will get better… I have created this series to help ourselves recognize our own resilience and inner strength, and that it is possible to remain calm and positive under these perplexing circumstances. We can create more ease in our life and stay connected to the good that is also taking place on this beautiful planet.
In this series, we will experience the joining of two evidence-based practices, yoga and mindfulness, to support ourselves in shifting into the present moment, the place where our personal power and freedom lie. We will invite acceptance of our circumstances, release resistance, and regain a sense of easeful calmness and clarity. As we experience gentle yogic practices, we will explore how mindfulness builds resilience, and positively impacts our thoughts and feelings, including the way we show up in the world. Through these five weeks, we will create greater ease in our mind, heart, and body, and reclaim the sense that this too shall pass, like everything else does. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, and this light is already there inside of us waiting to be acknowledged.
We will meet weekly on zoom, and if the time of the series does not work for you or if you miss a class, you will receive access to all the class recordings, downloadable guided meditations, as well as weekly handouts to support and deepen the practices done in class. A special bonus meditation involving a beach will be included as well!

Yoga Kriyas & Flow Series for a New Reality!
We now live in a world that is very different than it was two years ago. Let’s face it, whether covid19 stays or goes away, we are living in a new reality. We have had to adapt, and we have changed. We no longer see things the same way we did in March 2020.
This unique yoga series is designed to help us align with this new world reality in a way that keeps our heart open, our immunity strong, and where negativity stays out of our mind and out of our bio-energetic field. The yogic practices will incorporate beautiful flowing sequences, special combinations of yoga poses brought together for a specific focus (kriyas) and meditations inspired by the Kundalini style of yoga.
We will do things our way, and follow our body’s wisdom, breath, and energy. This series is suitable for all levels of yoga experience. Get ready to move your body and feel uplifted: we will raise our vibration and get centered in our heart so that we can spread loving energy and light instead of fear.
We will meet weekly on zoom, and if the time of the series does not work for you or if you miss a class, you will receive access to all the class recordings as well as weekly handouts for inspiration, reflection, and positive action.

An introduction to the Yoga for Personal Evolution series
These series have been created with the intention to support you on your path towards wholeness and authentic living.
I believe that we have been put on this earth to grow and evolve, and to reclaim our true nature as vast unlimited beings.
There is much happiness, inner peace, and fulfillment that come when we embody ourselves fully.
The ancient and timeless teachings of yoga support this view. These new series provide a place to explore such teachings more fully in our yoga practice both on and off the mat in a way that is conducive for transformation to happen. These teachings have been carefully selected to help us meet today’s life challenges in a real and practical way with greater ease, wisdom, and equanimity, while supporting our personal evolution. I look forward to being your guide on this journey.
Namaste.

Freedom from Suffering – A Yoga for Personal Evolution series
We can all agree that there is suffering in this world, we have all experienced it more often than we would like. I have come to realize that there is a difference in the way we may approach pain and suffering: one can be construed as unavoidable and the other as optional. This series explores the concept that it is possible to remove ourselves from “optional suffering” and reclaim our personal freedom.
Using the timeless teachings of yoga, we will look more closely at how our suffering shows up in our life so that it becomes easier to understand and recognize it. Each week, specific teachings will be brought to our “on the mat” practice of yoga poses, giving us an opportunity to examine them through our body-mind complex. This will help support our “off-the-mat” practice in our day-to-day life, the place where those teachings can have the greatest impact in freeing us from patterns of suffering that may have been with us for some time.
The yoga portion of this class is for all levels of yoga experience, and it will be on the gentler side.
Each week, you will receive:

To be scheduled either in the online portal, live on zoom, or in person
- A handout that summarizes the teachings;
- A short Daily Journal worksheet that you may use at your discretion a few times a week or more often as you feel guided;
- A recording of the weekly online class that you may enjoy multiple times; all class recordings will remain available after the end of the series for a specific time period.

Easy Yin-Yang Yoga - Finding Balance in an Uncertain World
(4-week series)
This series is designed to help us maintain a state of inner balance as we navigate a changing and uncertain world. This past year, covid19 has basically turned our lives upside down, and we’ve all had to make massive changes to adapt as best we could. Many have placed their life “on hold” until things return to “normal” again, yet no one really knows what this will look like when it happens, and when. This can feel very unsettling.
This series focuses on various practices taken mostly from the yoga and mindfulness traditions designed to help us create and maintain a sense of inner balance first with ourselves and our mind, then with the people around us and in our life, and the world itself. The asana portion will center around two styles of yoga that, in and of themselves when practiced together, can help restore a physical as well as holistic sense of inner peace and balance: yin yoga is a more passive, receptive, and meditative practice that features the relaxed holding of simple yoga postures and the calming of the mind; a yang practice is one that is more active, heating, and typical of a regular hatha and flow yoga class.
Each class will be centered around specific “inner balance” themes that build on one another. Handouts will be provided for each class to support a deepening of the weekly focus.
